NC State starting pitcher today

On Sunday, NC State coach Elliott Avent said that either Dominic Fritton or Logan Whitaker will start against Florida.

"It's going to be either Dom Fritton or Logan Whitaker," Avent said. "That's what we've done all year and if I had to guess right now, it would be Fritton, but we haven't even [scouted] Florida."

Although Whitaker seems like a more reliable option, it appears that coach Avent is leaning toward starting Fritton against Florida on Monday.

Fritton has a 3-6 record this season. The left-hander has recorded 69 strikeouts and 44 walks in 71.0 innings pitched at a 7.35 ERA. In his last start, Fritton allowed seven runs in three innings of a loss against Georgia.

Meanwhile, Whitaker has a 3-1 record this season. The right-hander has racked up 59 strikeouts and 19 walks across 52.0 innings pitched at a 6.06 ERA. Whitaker was given the task of leading the Wolfpack against Georgia in the deciding game of the Athens Super Regional, notching the win with two runs allowed in 4⅓ innings.
