The North Carolina Tar Heels will face the Florida State Seminoles in their third game of the 2024 College World Series on Tuesday. The highly-anticipated eliminator will commence at 2 p.m. EDT at Charles Schwab Field in Omaha, Nebraska.

North Carolina starting pitcher today

Aidan Haugh will start as the North Carolina pitcher against Florida State on Tuesday, the Tar Heels confirmed.

UNC coach Scott Forbes spoke to reporters earlier this week and praised FSU's batting lineup, but insisted that his team will make the necessary effort to get past the Seminoles.

“It’s a really good offensive lineup we’ll take it pitch by pitch,” Forbes said. “If we beat Florida State then hopefully we’ll have enough guys to compete against Tennessee again. We’ll start Aidan Haugh most likely.”

Haugh is in his first season with the Tar Heels. He previously played for two years at Fayetteville Tech. This year, UNC has used the pitcher as a starter and as a reliever.

Haugh has a 4-2 record at UNC thus far. The right-hander has racked up 58 strikeouts and 24 walks across 51.2 innings pitched at a 4.53 ERA.
