Who is pitching for Texas A&M today? All eyes on Aggies in 2024 College World Series game - June 17
The Texas A&M Aggies will face the Kentucky Wildcats in their second game of the 2024 College World Series on Monday. The highly-anticipated winner's bracket game will commence at 7 p.m. EDT at Charles Schwab Field in Omaha, Nebraska.
Texas A&M starting pitcher today
Ryan Prager will start as the Texas A&M pitcher against Kentucky on Monday, the Aggies have confirmed.
Prager has become one of the most important pitchers in the Texas A&M squad this season and has an 8-1 record in 17 appearances. The left-hander has amassed 114 strikeouts and 19 walks across 87.0 innings pitched at a 3.10 ERA.
The Wildcats made history on Saturday when they won their first-ever game in the CWS. They will be high on confidence, and Prager will need to play a key role for Texas A&M to contain Kentucky on Monday.
Ahead of the Aggies' matchup against Kentucky, Texas A&M coach Jim Schlossnagle praised the Wildcats but said his team will be ready for the challenge.
"They can do everything: hit the ball out of the ballpark, run, bunt, put a lot of pressure on you, throw strikes, play defense. But we are not bad. You know, we will show up.
"I have watched them play on television, and they have an awesome synergy about them, too. You can see that, playing with a lot of confidence like us. I think we are playing with a lot of confidence, and we have some neat character in our club, too."
