10 best recruiting classes in men's College basketball for 2024-25 season ft. Alabama

The 2024-25 college basketball season won't start until November, but many of the nation's top recruits are settling into their schools. The top programs have brought in recruits in an attempt to push them ahead of the competition and one step closer to a national championship.

Here's a look at the 10 teams that had the best recruiting classes in college basketball, according to SportsCenterNext.

#10, LSU Tigers

Matt McMahon's LSU Tigers have brought in four top recruits: Robert Miller, Curtis Givens III, Vyctorius Miller and Noah Boyde. Givens and Miller will help out in the backcourt, with Miller and Boyde coming in as forwards with good size.

Boyde is a 7-footer who is the fourth-ranked national player out of junior college, according to 247Sports.


#9, Miami Hurricanes

The Miami Hurricanes will bring in four top college basketball recruits, including Jalil Betha, the country's seventh-ranked recruit by 247Sports. He's a 6-foot-4 shooting guard from Warminster, Pennsylvania, who was a McDonald's All-American last season.

Austin Swartz also joins the program as an SG who was a four-star recruit. The other two recruits are three-star forward Isaiah Johnson-Arigu and guard Divine Ugochukwu.

#8, UConn Huskies

Dan Hurley and the back-to-back college basketball champion Huskies will bring in one five-star and two four-star recruits. Their recruiting class is headlined by small forward Liam McNeeley, who is the 10th-ranked player in the 2024 class. There's a good chance that McNeeley could immediately be a starter for the Huskies in their quest for a historic three-peat.


#7, Arkansas Razorbacks

Arkansas' new coach, John Calipari, has brought many transfers with him from Kentucky to join three top incoming college basketball recruits. Boogie Fland, Karter Knox and Billy Richmond all rank within 247Sports' top 25 national recruits.


#6, Arizona State Sun Devils

Arizona State has one player signed with the program in SF Amier Ali. However, the program has three commitments who have yet to sign: Jayden Quaintance, Joson Sanon and Bo Aldridge.

Quaintance and Sanon would be especially important key players to join Ali next season. Quaintance is a 6-9 center who is a five-star recruit and the ninth-ranked player in his class. Sanon is the 22nd nationally ranked player in the 2024 class and a four-star recruit.


#5, North Carolina Tar Heels

Hubert Davis and the Tar Heels are bringing in two of the top 15 college basketball recruits in the 2024 class. Ian Jackson is a five-star SG who could immediately be inserted into UNC's starting lineup. Drake Powell, a 6-6 SF, is another five-star recruit who will join the team along with three-star center James Brown.

#4, Baylor Bears

VJ Edgecombe, Rob Wright and Jason Asemota will all join the returning Scott Drew at Baylor for the 2024–25 season. Edgecombe is the fifth-ranked college basketball recruit in the 2024 class, with Wright as the top-ranked point guard. Asemota is a 6-8 SF who is the second-ranked recruit from Arizona.


#3, Alabama Crimson Tide

Nate Oats coached the Crimson Tide to the Final Four last season and has an outstanding recruiting class entering in 2024. Derrion Reid, Aiden Sherrell, Labaron Philon and Naas Cunningham will all be joining Alabama this season, all ranked in the top 40 of the 247Sports national recruit rankings for the 2024 class.


#2, Rutgers Scarlet Knights

Rutgers may not be a powerhouse program in college basketball, but the five incoming freshmen could change the future of Scarlet Knights hoops. Their 2024 recruiting class is headlined by SF Ace Bailey and SG Dylan Harper.

Bailey is the second-ranked overall player in the 2024 class, with Harper one spot behind him. Both have major potential to help turn Steve Pikiell's program around and become future top NBA draft prospects.

The Duke Blue Devils have emerged at the front of college basketball with the best recruiting class ahead of the 2024–25 season. Duke will have six incoming freshmen in 247Sports' top 40 national rankings. This includes two top five players: Cooper Flagg and Kahman Maluach.

Flagg is the top overall recruit in the 2024 class and is expected to be one of the country's top freshmen, along with a future first-round NBA draft pick. Maluah is a 7-1 center who played professionally in Africa before announcing his commitment to Duke in 2024.
