Minnesota Lynx star Bridget Carleton is a former Iowa State player who had an exceptional collegiate career from 2015 to 2019. During her time with the Cyclones, Carleton evolved as one of the most well-rounded players in the Big 12.
The Canadian international has also set numerous records and earned a slew of awards. Her 17.3 points per game career scoring average was the most in the program's history until Ashley Joens surpassed her last year.
Carleton's 2,142 career points put her in third place in the Iowa State record book, behind Joens and Angie Welle.

In her freshman year with the Cyclones, Carleton played 27 games, scoring 323 points (12.0 on average). Iowa State finished eighth in the conference standings and was not qualified for the NCAA Tournament.
The following season, the 6-foot-1 forward led the Cyclones to a more respectable fifth-place finish in the Big 12 and the NCAA tournament first round.
Her best season statistically came in her senior year when she averaged 21.7 points, 8.6 rebounds, 4.0 assists, and 2.3 steals per game.
She helped the Cyclones reach the Big 12 tournament championship game. She scored 31 points and grabbed 10 rebounds in a loss against Missouri State in the second round of NCAA games.

Bridget Carleton reflects on her journey from college to becoming pro player
Bridget Carleton will be playing her first WNBA Finals on Thursday. Her gradual rise through the ranks of the Minnesota roster is not praised enough.
In July, She opened up about how her college experience prepared her for the professional level.
"My first year at Iowa State, I was a much different player four years later, a much different person," Carleton said. "I grew into who I was. They pushed me to become the best player I could."
"I played a lot of minutes as a freshman and throughout my four years. So, they believed in me. They trusted me ... So, I'm really thankful for them and that journey and I wouldn't be here without them."
Bridget Carleton was picked by the Connecticut Sun in the 2019 WNBA draft. However, after just four games, the Sun released her. She ended up joining the Minnesota Lynx shortly after.
