College hoops fans mock Stephen A Smith as his bold claim about 2016 Villanova squad resurfaces: "We established before 2016 that he was a moron"

The Villanova Wildcats continue to provide talent that is making a mark in the National Basketball Association, but apparently, not everyone is a fan of the program's success during its peak. The New York Knicks have picked up several former Wildcats including Josh Hart, Jalen Brunson and Donte DiVincenzo.

Recently, they also added Mikal Bridges in a trade with the Brooklyn Nets on Tuesday night, bringing another Villanova alumnus to their roster. This group of players were teammates during Villanova's national championship game in 2017 against North Carolina.

ESPN's Stephen A. Smtih on April 4, 2016, discussed the game with Skip Bayless on First Take and discussed how he did not believe any players on the roster were real NBA prospects.

"First take or worst take?" Another user commented

People continued to ridicule the take and the fact that Stephen A. Smith said that on national television.

"And that guy wants 30 mil a year? Remember his Manziel take?" Another commenter posted
"He makes a lot of money for terrible takes. Can't believe he has hung on this long." One poster replied

This is going to be interesting to see how the New York Knicks look as they are a team full of former Villanova Wildcats players

Did any Villanova Wildcats get drafted in the first round of the 2024 NBA draft?

The Villanova Wildcats had a decent season last year as they finished 18-16 and did not do well in the postseason as the team lost in the first round of the NIT to the VCU Rams. However, zero players from the Villanova Wildcats were selected in the 2024 NBA draft.

What Villanova Wildcats players can be selected in the second round of the 2024 NBA draft?

The Villanova Wildcats seemingly will be without any players selected in any of the 60 picks overall. They did not see any members of the program get drafted in the first round but the second round will not seemingly have players from the Wildcats hear their name.

A big reason why is the fact there is a lot of middling talent around the world and only 30 picks so maybe we will see some undrafted free agents but not selected on Thursday.
