"Generational", "Baby demon": Fans go gaga as JuJu Watkins breaks USC record on career high night

Second-year sensation JuJu Watkins dropped a 40-bomb on Dec. 3 against Cal Baptist while setting a new USC record of nine 3-pointers in one game. She shot an efficient 66.7% field goal percentage and a scorching-hot 9-for-11 from downtown for 81.8% to help give the Trojans a 94-52 win.

The USC WBB X account posted Watkins' impressive stat line, which also includes six rebounds, three swats, an assist, and a steal.

Fans praised Watkins in the comments as she bolstered her superstar status.

"Generational," one fan captioned their repost of Watkins' statline.
"We just getting started," another proclaimed.
"Baby demon," a user expressed about the USC standout.

More JuJu fans added their thoughts about how the guard's career is shaping.

"Can’t wait for Juju Watkins to go to the WNBA," one fan expressed.
"Why (is) JuJu Watkins not getting the CC (Caitlin Clark) hype???? Cause JuJu been going off," another fan questioned.
"JuJu Watkins is a cheat code lol goodness," a user said.

Performances like these showcase how Watkins can heat up at any moment as each of her opponents cannot let her get in the zone. She easily had just five points in the opening period, but went on to have six 3-pointers already by the third quarter.

As the Trojans pick up win No. 7 on the 2024-2025 season, they will face a much-awaited test against the Oregon Ducks in the Matthew Knight Arena on Saturday, Dec. 7.

JuJu Watkins reaches 1,000-point milestone faster than Caitlin Clark

This school 3-pointer record comes on the heels of another milestone Watkins reached last month. She became the fastest player in a Power Five conference in women's college basketball history and tied for the fourth-fastest in women's DI history to reach 1,000 career points.

Watkins reached the milestone against Santa Clara, her 38th career game. She beat the Power Five mark previously held by Caitlin Clark, who achieved the feat in 40 games.

Currently in her second campaign for USC, Watkins has scored at least 20 points in all of her games this season except during a brutal 90-35 blowout of Cal Poly where she finished with just 16 points in 29 minutes.

She is currently averaging 25.4 points, 6.2 rebounds, and 3.6 assists, and 2.4 blocks per game this season.
