Hannah Hidalgo Stats Today: How many points did Notre Dame star score vs. Utah? (Nov 30)

Hannah Hidalgo played her worst game of the 2024-25 women's college basketball season, tallying 16 points, three rebounds, three steals and one block, as Notre Dame absorbed a 78-67 defeat to Utah in the Cayman Islands Classic on Saturday.

Like in the previous outing against TCU, Hidalgo played 40 minutes for the Fighting Irish, but the Utes' defense worked well to stop her from getting hot on offense. The sophomore, ranked third in the nation in scoring before the game against Utah, shot 6-of-17, including 2-of-5 from the 3-point area.

Hidalgo missed her first four attempts before making a buzzer-beating jumper to cut Utah's lead to 19-18 in the first quarter. The 5-6 guard added five points on a jumper and a 3-pointer, which helped Notre Dame gain a 37-32 lead at the half.

Hidalgo was uncharacteristically quiet in the third quarter, scoring only four points on a layup and two free throws. That proved costly for Notre Dame, who only scored 11 points in the third frame and allowed Utah to reclaim a 53-48 edge at the start of the payoff period.

The 19-year-old Paul VI High School standout missed her first three attempts in the fourth quarter before making a triple that reduced Utah's deficit to 68-60 with 2:30 left. However, the Utes responded with five straight points to stay up in double digits, 73-60.

Hidalgo would make another jumper to cut it to 11, but Utah's lead proved insurmountable to overcome. The setback was Notre Dame's second in seven games while Utah improved to 6-2.
