Every time Mulkey calls the shots on the sidelines for the past 24 seasons with Baylor and LSU, her wardrobe for the game has been talked about as well as her intense coaching.
But less often discussed is what she wears during the offseason or when her team doesn't have games. In 2023, LSU assistant coach Gary Redus II posted a video on X showing Mulkey sitting in her office in an LSU shirt, black pants and flip-flops while waiting for a recruit.
"I got my flip flops on waiting for another recruit to come in town," said Mulkey in the 30-second clip. [0:18-0:24]
The 2023 offseason was eventful for LSU, months after winning the national championship over Iowa. The Tigers recruited five-star players in guard Mikaylah Williams and center Aalyah del Rosario, plus two four-star guards in Angelica Velez and Janae Kent. They also picked up Aneesah Morrow and Hailey Van Lith from the transfer portal.
LSU finished second in the 2023-24 SEC regular season, behind South Carolina, and made the NCAA Tournament where they made the Elite Eight.
