Is Bronny James getting drafted? Final landing spot prediction for LeBron James' son

The 2024 NBA draft begins Wednesday night, and there's a lot of hype about the future of the league. One player in particular that has been in the spotlight is USC freshman guard Bronny James. He suffered a cardiac arrest in July and recovered to start playing in December, but struggled to find his footing coming off the bench for the Trojans.

James finished the 2023-24 college basketball season averaging 4.8 points, 2.8 rebounds, 2.1 assists, 0.8 steals and 0.2 blocks in 19.4 minutes per game. His shooting also struggled as he made 36.6% of his shots, including 26.7% from beyond the arc, and only 67.6% from the free-throw line.

Bronny James will likely hear his name called during the 2024 NBA draft, and there's one team in particular that makes the most sense.

Where will Bronny James get selected?

The story of Bronny James will begin this week in the NBA as he will most likely get drafted.

Some analysts believe Bronny James's draft location will be used as a ploy in a quest for a team trying to sign his father, LeBron James, as an unrestricted free agent. However, it seems most likely that the LA Lakers will use the 55th selection to choose Bronny.

The idea is that first-year coach JJ Redick could develop Bronny's talent, while LeBron can help him learn the ropes. Plus, the Lakers could sell the promotional aspect as well.

The 55th pick in the NBA draft does not necessarily see much action during their rookie season. Last year's 55th pick, Miami guard Isaiah Wong, played a total of four minutes in the NBA last year. Instead, he got seasoning in the G League. However, Bronny's agent, Rich Paul, who is also LeBron's agent, has said that the concept is that a team shouldn't draft Bronny to develop him in the G League.

The LA Lakers seemingly are in a state of rebuilding and figuring out their future. Bronny James can help as he develops but this is more than just a one-year situation so it feels like it is the Lakers at No. 55 or he goes undrafted.
