Is Kim Mulkey married? Everything you need to know about LSU HC's family and personal life

LSU coach Kim Mulkey has emerged as one of the most successful ones in NCAA women's basketball history. She has won four national championships — three with Baylor and one with LSU in her first season.

Mulkey has been in the coaching game for over three decades, and her journey to the top has been remarkable. So, fans are curious to know about her personal life, particularly her marital status.

Is Kim Mulkey married?

Kim Mulkey was married to Randy Robertson in 1987 until their divorce in 2006. Since then, she has been single and focusing on her coaching career.

Mulkey first met Robertson when they were both student-athletes in the early 1980s. She was a standout guard on the Louisiana Tech women's basketball team while his ex-husband was a quarterback for the school's football team.

The two dated for several years before marrying in 1987. They had a private wedding ceremony at a Baptist church in Louisiana. They had two children together - a son named Kramer and a daughter named Makenzie.

Unfortunately, their marriage didn't last, as they parted ways in 2006 after nearly 20 years together. Kim Mulkey has been open about the impact her divorce has had on her and her family.

"I offered to give up my career to save my marriage," Mulkey said in an interview with Michael Cauble in May 2023 (22:02).
"It does affect children — I don't care if your children are older or younger ... Divorce isn't too easy. You need to really do some soul-searching as a human about the selfishness of a divorce and how it affects other people, not just yourself.
"I won't ever get over it. Deep down, internally, I feel like a failure that I couldn't make my marriage work. It's something that I just want people who are struggling to fight through if you can."

Kim Mulkey's kids, Kramer and Makenzie

Kim Mulkey's two children — son Kramer and daughter Makenzie — are both grown up now. Makenzie was the first born who turned 31 last year, while Kramer is 30.

Both of Mulkey's kids choose sports-oriented career paths, just like their mother. Makenzie played for the Baylor Bears led by her mother, and the two won a national championship together in 2012.

She then earned a Master of Business Administration in 2015 and worked as an assistant director of women's basketball operations at Baylor until 2021, according to her LinkedIn profile. Makenzie married her college sweetheart, Clay Fuller, in 2015 and are blessed with two children.

Meanwhile, Kramer played college football at LSU and was drafted by the St. Louis Cardinals in the 2017 MLB draft. He last played for minor leagues with the Memphis Redbirds.
