Kyle Filipowski NBA draft projection: Where will the Duke forward land?

Kentucky Wildcats' sophomore forward Kyle Filipowski has been one of the top players in the 2024 NBA draft. However, he was not selected in the first round of the draft and is going to be taken in the second round.

He had a strong season with the Duke Blue Devils as he finished with 16.4 points, 8.3 rebounds, 2.8 assists, 1.1 steals and 1.5 blocks on a 50.5/34.8/67.1 shooting split.

Since he is a promising talent, teams will look to pick him in the upcoming round. Let's take a look at a few landing spots.

Kyle Filipowski NBA Draft Projections

#1 Toronto Raptors

The Toronto Raptors have the first pick in the second round of the draft. Filipowski seems like a great fit for their roster, as they need size and his 6-foot-11 frame could benefit Toronto.

The Raptors selected shooting guard Ja'Kobe Walter in the first round of the draft so addressing the forward position with a player that can shoot well and do a lot on the court makes a lot of sense for the Toronto Raptors.

#2 Boston Celtics

The Boston Celtics hold the second pick in the second round and the reigning NBA champions could add a significant piece to their backcourt.

With Kristaps Porzingis undergoing surgery today on his injured leg and expected to miss 5–6 months to recover, this could be a great landing spot for Kyle Filipowski to play that role.

With Al Horford's likely retirement coming after winning the title, this frontcourt is going to need some more size. Expect the Celtics to be a great landing spot for Filipowski.

#3 Brooklyn Nets

While this is the least likely situation, it certainly could be something that will help Filipowski find his new home.

After trading for five first-round picks by dealing away Mikal Bridges, other players could be available on their roster, like Dorian Finney-Smith or Cameron Johnson and that could be enough to get a second-round pick extremely high on the board.

With the Nets not looking to win many games, they could use Filipowski and center Nic Claxton as building blocks for the team's future.
