$1.5M NIL-worth Flau'jae Johnson shares 3 relationship rules for BF, Chris Hilton Jr.
LSU star Flau'jae Johnson had a stellar 2024-25 season under coach Kim Mulkey, leading the Tigers to the Elite Eight of the NCAA Tournament. Despite being eligible for the WNBA Draft, Johnson opted to remain in college basketball for an extra year.
Off the court, the $1.5 million NIL-valued Johnson (as per On3) spoke about the three rules that govern her relationship with LSU wide receiver Chris Hilton Jr. during a segment of the IRL podcast on Sunday.
"If your heart had a rule book, what are two qualities that would be written in bold when it comes to a partner and why? Oh my God, I got three," Flau'jae Johnson said.
"When I start talking to somebody, I tell my boyfriend I've got three rules. Don't lie to me. I don't do cheating. I don't play that, and don't lie to me to protect my feelings. Don't lie to me twice. Don't lie to me just 'cause you're a liar, and don't lie to me to protect my feelings. I'd rather you keep it a hundred with me, and let me choose. Tell me the truth, and let me choose whether I wanna deal with it. I feel that's more playing than lying."
Flau'jae Johnson and Chris Hilton support each other
Flau'jae Johnson and Chris Hilton Jr. went public with their relationship on Christmas Eve last year when they posted Christmas-themed pictures on Instagram followed up by a Love & Basketball-themed photoshoot on Valentine's Day. Since then, the pair has supported each other publicly, with Hilton hyping up Johnson when she releases new songs.
During a segment of the Best of Both Worlds podcast, the multi-talented Johnson revealed that the couple made a bet over which set of pictures of them would go viral.
“Let’s talk about this photo shoot," Flau'jae Johnson said. "The funniest thing about this photoshoot is that when we took it, we also did the Christmas pictures the same night. We’ve had these pictures for like three months, and we made a bet.”
Johnson also has a custom of blowing kisses in the crowd after scoring. During her postgame news conference after the LSU Tigers beat the San Diego State Aztecs 103-48 in March, she revealed that she also directs the gesture at her boyfriend.
"I'll be blowing kisses to the student section, and my boyfriend (Chris Hilton) was there. It just came to me, like, give them some love. They need it."
Flau'jae Johnson will be back to lead the LSU Tigers next season. Chris Hilton Jr., meanwhile, had a breakout season last year under coach Brian Kelly, tallying 234 receiving yards resulting in three touchdowns.
