She also replied to some of the comments, further fueling the humorous exchange. Here are some of the responses shared by fans:
A'ja has not responded to Staley's post yet.
Wilson, a two-time WNBA champion, and Staley are both in Paris for the Olympics. Wilson is part of the USA basketball team set to kick off their quest for gold on July 29 against Japan at the 2024 Olympics.
Dawn Staley picks A'ja Wilson as the WNBA Most Valuable Player
While the basketball world discusses who will be the next WNBA MVP, Dawn Staley has made her pick. In a post on X, she shared last week, she was confident that A'ja Wilson, the 6-foot-4 Las Vegas Aces star, would claim the award.
"I know yall will say I’m crazy and biased or both…. maybe, but A'ja Wilson is your WNBA Most Valuable Player, Defensive Player of the Year, and Most Improved…..," Staley posted on X.
Staley also happened to check Wilson's WNBA stats this season and she was quite impressed with what she saw.
"Dizzam I just checked A'ja Wilson statline…..oh you back to rebounding huh Ms. Wilson?!!" Staley tweeted on July 14th. "Double double and almost double that up! You really trying to send a message to that voter who gave you a 4th place MVP vote."
