4-Star recruit Jamarion Davis-Fleming commits to Mississippi State rejecting 3 programs ft. LSU

Jamarion Davis-Fleming, a four-star center, announced his commitment to Mississippi State on Tuesday. 247Sports reported that he chose the Bulldogs over offers from LSU, James Madison and Ole Miss.

The No.1 player in Mississippi in the 2025 class revealed his four final schools through an Instagram post in July. After a series of college visits throughout the offseason, Davis-Fleming decided to join coach Chris Jans's program.

He went to Starkville, Mississippi, on Sep. 20, followed by a trip to James Madison a week later. His visit to Baton Rouge on Oct. 11 was not enough to convince him to become an LSU Tiger.

"Just the style of play, with Cam Matthews leaving I can come in and play right away as the four-five, stretch my game out, get the opportunity to show everybody what I can do especially at the SEC level," Jamarion told 247Sports.
"So me coming in there and having a chance to play right away and get my number called early, I couldn't pass it up," he added. "They are getting a winner out of me. We want to bring a winning style back ... we are trying to build on that and win a National Championship."

Jamarion Davis-Fleming, a 6-foot-9 big man, plays for Canton High School. He averaged 16 points, 12 rebounds and four blocks per game for Canton last season guiding them to an MHSAA Class 5A state championship. For his achievement, he was awarded the Mr. Basketball for Class 5A.

Jamarion Davis-Fleming says Josh Hubbard impresses him the most

Jamarion Davis-Fleming continued the tradition of Mississippi's top basketball player choosing Mississippi State. This year, it was Eric Paymon Jr; in 2023, it was Josh Hubbard, while in 2022, Kimani Hamilton joined the Bulldogs.

During Davis-Fleming visit to Mississippi State, he was particularly impressed by sophomore guard Hubbard.

"Their competitiveness in practice really stood out to me, just the way they compete in everything. Josh Hubbard probably stood out to me the most in practice with their players," Jamarion said.
"I watched their frontcourt guys a good bit, too. They have a lot of new guys in the frontcourt and those guys are coming along well."

Hubbard averaged 17.7 ppg and 2.2 rpg for the Bulldogs last season as a freshman. He scored a season high 34 points in a defeat to Kentucky in February.

With Jamarion Davis-Fleming on board, coach Jans will expect the Bulldogs to bounce back following a decade of disappointment.
