LSU Tigers start the season on a high note
The No. 7 LSU Tigers proved that they are showing no signs of weakness in their dominant victories to start the 2024-2025 season.
The Tigers’ defensive tenacity has held opponents to single digits in five of its last eight quarters. This includes a sequence in the first quarter, where LSU forced Charleston Southern to miss 15-of-16 shots over six minutes after getting a 5-0 start.
Moreover, the most points the hosts have allowed in a quarter is 16, made by the Buccaneers in the fourth quarter. The Tigers also held a 43-rebound (66 to 23) and 15-assist (23 to eight) advantage with three fewer turnovers (14 to 17).
Including wins in exhibition games against Xavier and LSU-Alexandria, the Tigers have now scored more than 95 points in five games and reached the 100-point mark for the third time. This also marks the fifth game which they held their opponents to less than 60 points.
LSU (3-0) hosts Murray State on Friday, the fourth of six straight home games to open the season. Meanwhile, Charleston Southern faces Charlotte next Monday.
