Angel Reese drops one-word reaction to LSU star Aneesah Morrow’s gameday snaps from EKU win
Aneesah Morrow's senior season is off to a great start, as the guard has led the LSU Tigers to victories in their first two games of the season. In the season opener against Eastern Kentucky, Morrow had 20 points, 10 rebounds and three assists as the Tigers won 95-44.
Aneesah Morrow shared pictures from the game on her Instagram on Friday.
"Alhamdulillah 🤲🏾," she wrote in the caption.
Former LSU star Angel Reese reacted to the photo dump in the comments, writing:
"Killaaaa."
Morrow's production went down in the second game, a 95-36 win over Northwestern State on Friday. She finished with 11 points on a 4 for 11 shooting and five rebounds.
After playing two seasons with DePaul, Aneesah Morrow transferred to Baton Rouge before the 2023-24 season. The guard, with Angel Reese and Flau'jae Johnson, played a crucial role in LSU's Elite Eight run last season.
For this year, however, Morrow will play a more prominent role as she is set to lead the Tigers from the front. In an exclusive interview with The Bengal Tiger, the guard shared her conversations with LSU coach Kim Mulkey about her new leadership role.
"I've sat down and talked to the coach all the time about it," Morrow said. "She told me she wants me to be more of a vocal leader.
"She knows that I lead by example and my teammates will follow, but she wants me to be more verbal. And that's something I've been working on in practice. I've gotten a lot better at it, actually."
Aneesah Morrow comments on her on-court chemistry with Flau'jae Johnson
While Angel Reese had the spotlight for leading the Tigers to an NCAA championship in 2023 and the Elite Eight last season, players like Aneesah Morrow and Flau'jae Johnson played a crucial role in helping Reese.
“I feel like me and Flau’jae kind of took that challenge on because she was like, ‘I'm gonna get more steals than you today, and I'm like, ‘No, you're not getting more steals than me today.’ So, we kind of put that challenge, especially on the wing, and with me being able to switch off as well,” Morrow said.
With Reese in the WNBA, Morrow and Johnson are expected to be the new leaders and help LSU on the path to another championship. The Tigers will next face the Charleston Southern Buccaneers on Tuesday.
