Angel Reese’s former LSU teammate Kateri Poole reacts to WNBA star’s practice highlights

Angel Reese and Kateri Poole are familiar with one another, having played together on the 2022-23 LSU Tigers squad that won the NCAA championship. Having gone their separate ways since then, following a recent Instagram post from the former, the latter publicly gave a positive and strong reaction to their former teammate's Instagram post.

On Nov. 14, Reese posted a video reel on Instagram that showed her doing a practice workout. She can be seen making a lot of shots, both inside and outside the three-point line as she focuses her ability to score with the ball in her hands before her second WNBA season with the Chicago Sky approaches next year.

As expected, Poole viewed the post and reacted to it with a comment showing two emojis of people dancing.

Kateri Poole's memorable yet strange stint at LSU, expectations with their current team

Joining LSU after two seasons at Ohio State, Kateri Poole was a steady contributor off the bench in their 35 appearances for the Tigers during the 2022-23 campaign.

Poole averaged 4.5 points, 2.6 rebounds, 2.4 assists, and 1.5 steals per game that year. They scored six points in the national championship game against Iowa en route to becoming champions, a big moment for them, Angel Reese, and company.

Things spiraled from there the following season, with head coach Kim Mulkey kicking Poole off the team for being suspected of leaking a game plan to another program. Poole revealed as much during an Instagram Live in September.

"Truthfully, [Mulkey] said that I sent in a scouting report to another school," she revealed."I ain't do that s***... I was like, 'What do we do now?' She said, 'You're kicked off.' I said, 'Boom, aight.' She said, 'No longer on the team.' I took it, asked if I could still play. She said 'yep.' Scholarship, boom, was allowed to transfer. Now, I'm at Houston. Please stop asking me about that s***," Poole said.

Poole subsequently saw their second LSU season prematurely end after four games, looking for a new team to play for following the events.

They eventually found their team in the Houston Cougars, transferring over the summer as they look to provide a significant impact in the program's success this year. Poole has yet to play, with Houston starting 0-2 on the season following losses to UTRGV and Georgia.

Houston will look to bounce back and get their first win against the Rice Owls at the Tudor Fieldhouse on Nov. 14 at 8 p.m. ET.
