Are Haley and Hanna Cavinder eligible for the 2025 WNBA Draft?
According to the WNBA draft rules, USA players have to be at least 22 years old during the year of the draft to be eligible. They must either give up their college eligibility or formally renounce it before declaring for the draft.
Haley and Hanna Cavinder are 23 years old and already in the final seasons of their collegiate basketball careers. This makes them eligible to declare for the 2025 WNBA draft. The Cavinder twins are enjoying a strong final season, with Haley averaging 18.0 points, 7.7 rebounds and 5.0 assists per game, while Hanna averages 8.1 ppg, 3.2 apg and 4.3 apg.
With their performances and proven marketability, there is no doubt about their prospects should they decide to declare for the WNBA draft.
Haley and Hanna Cavinder shine as Miami downs Oregon State
While the 2025 WNBA draft won't be until April, the Cavinder twins extended their outstanding season in Miami's 61-56 win over Oregon State on Saturday.
Haley recorded her third straight double-double with a 20-point, 12-rebound performance. She also added a team-high five assists to help the Canes go undefeated in two games at the 2024 Maui Classic. Haley received Tournament MVP honors after averaging 22.5 ppg, 12.0 rpg and 5.0 apg in the event.
Meanwhile, Hanna Cavinder contributed four points, five rebounds, three assists and two steals against the Beavers.
Apart from the Cavinder twins, Cameron Williams was outstanding for Miami, with a team-high 21 points and five rebounds, which got her a place on the Maui Classic All-Tournament team after averaging 17.5 ppg and 6.0 rpg while shooting 53.6% in wins over Nevada and Oregon State.
Jasmyne Roberts also scored 11 points, added eight rebounds and recorded one steal and one block to help Miami improve to 11-1 under first-year coach Tricia Cullop.
Miami will now focus on its next home game against 19th-ranked North Carolina on Dec. 29.
