Auburn HC Bruce Pearl thanks Senator Tuberville for support during Israel-Palestine war

Auburn Tigers coach Bruce Pearl visited Capitol Hill alongside the U.S. Israel Education Association to see Senator Tommy Tuberville on Monday. The meeting radiated a show of support for Israel’s ongoing war with Hamas. Pearl has been an overt supporter of Israel and its right to defend itself.

As Tuberville shared the update on X with staunch beliefs on anti-semitism, Pearl thanked the Senator for his continuous support.

“Thank you for your courage Senator Tuberville, for standing with Israel over terrorism!” Bruce Pearl quipped in his reply.

Apart from being one of the most successful coaches in college basketball, Bruce Pearl is also an active board member of the United States Israel Education Association. Through USIEA, he has delivered speeches at town halls and conducted seminars about Israel with people from all walks of life.

Moreover, he spearheaded the Athletes for Isreal movement, which takes players and coaches from school programs to experience Israeli culture, history and daily life.

The University of Arizona (one of the largest Jewish student populations in the country) and Kansas State traveled to Abu Dhabi and Israel in 2023 to echo prosperity for the Middle East. Auburn University initiated the cause in 2022.

Tuberville radiated Bruce Pearl's sentiments on a round-table last year

Apart from Monday’s trip to Washington, Pearl and Tuberville have regularly come together to disapprove of anti-semitism and educate the youth.

Due to the rise of anti-semitism on college campuses, Tommy Tuberville partook in a roundtable last November and read an emotional statement from Bruce Pearl.

"College rhetoric is full of misinformation," Tuberville voiced Pearl's words. "Students need the facts and the history that underpins it. They need exposure to people from different backgrounds.
"They also need opportunities to come together to find common ground through prayer, spirituality and honest dialog. That is how we end this cycle of hate and eradicate genocide," he added.

The Senator also highlighted the lack of leadership and courage to stand up for each other. Tuberville believes that teachers and educators have a moral responsibility to bestow the understanding of rights and wrongs to students.
