Audi Crooks stats tonight - How did Iowa State star fare vs UConn? (Dec 17)
Audi Crooks led the Iowa State Cyclones in scoring despite suffering a 101-68 blowout defeat to the No. 4 UConn Huskies on Tuesday night. She scored 22 points on 9-of-14 shooting.
Crooks got things going by making her first two shot attempts and grabbing a rebound in the first three minutes of the game. She would proceed to make one more layup, subbing out for a minute, then coming back in to finish out the first quarter.
Her pace in the second quarter was similar to the first, finding shot opportunities where she could while grabbing the occasional rebound. When she made her first shot of the period, the Cyclones were already trailing by a huge deficit with UConn leading 36-12.
At halftime, Crooks had 11 points, three rebounds and an assist on 5-of-9 shooting from the field and 0-of-2 from beyond the arc.
Crooks became more active in the third quarter, making 3-of-4 shot attempts. She also grabbed three rebounds and she went to the four times, making three of her chances at the charity stripe.
Despite her efforts, Iowa State struggled to keep up with the Huskies. They got outscored 27-17 in the third quarter as UConn saw their lead continue to grow.
UConn started the fourth quarter with an 81-52 lead. This also ended up being the period where Crooks made the least impact, only playing five minutes as her final offensive play came with 7:21 remaining in the game via a made layup.
She subbed out with 4:32 left, not returning to the court as Iowa State accepted defeat.

Her potent scoring and ability to crash the glass keep her place as one of the best players. Iowa State has a 9-4 record so far this season, and they have Crooks to thank for their success.
