Azzi Fudd chooses Geno Auriemma over associate HC for TikTok; Paige Bueckers disagrees

UConn Huskies basketball stars Paige Bueckers and Azzi Fudd shared their opinions on head coach Geno Auriemma’s "rizz." On Thursday, Bueckers and Fudd answered a series of fun, rapid-fire questions on SNY, including comparing Auriemma with his top assistant, Chris Dailey.

They were asked about the coaches' social media skills and interestingly, they had different answers. When asked, “Who would have a better TikTok?,” Bueckers picked Dailey, while Fudd put her bet on Auriemma. See the clip below:

They were also asked who they would pick for being stuck on a desert island. Bueckers picked Auriemma, commenting:

““He would be less annoying, he would be more chill.”

Fudd, on the other hand, went back and forth before finally settling on Dailey with a laugh, adding, “I don’t know.” The next question was about who had the cornier jokes. Fudd pointed to Auriemma, saying:

“I’m gonna go with Coach. I don’t think I’ve heard CD tell too many jokes.”

Bueckers, however, disagreed, claiming:

“CD has corny jokes.”

Next, they were asked, among both coaches, who would call when they needed help. This question was also met with split opinions. Bueckers answered “CD” with certainty, while Fudd chose Auriemma.

Both players were aligned on the last question, “Who has more rizz?” After a slight hesitation, Fudd settled on “Coach,” and Bueckers enthusiastically confirmed, “Coach has W rizz.”

Paige Bueckers and UConn Huskies start the season in fine form

UConn achieved an 86-32 victory over Boston University on Thursday night, and the Huskies looked the part of national title contenders. They opened with an 11-0 run, briefly halted by a layup from BU’s Sisi Bentley, the closest BU would get all game.

While Azzi Fudd was sidelined, still recovering from a torn ACL from November 2023, Paige Bueckers and company bounded to a very comfortable win. Bueckers recorded 13 points, 7 assists and 4 rebounds in 24 minutes on the court, coming in third for UConn for points scored, behind Sarah Stron and Jana El Alfy, who both hit 17.

Bueckers is entering her final college year and her close friend Fudd is set to rejoin the lineup soon. Bueckers is aiming to secure a national championship for UConn in her final college chapter. The hype is particularly high as Paige Bueckers is expected to be an early pick in the 2025 WNBA Draft.

Fudd, on the other hand, is recovering from an ACL injury and is set to return soon. As to when, while there is no exact timeline, Fudd discussed her recovery in late October:

“I’m feeling really good, feeling strong, so I’m excited,” Fudd told reporters. “I’m doing most of practice. I would say I’m still like on load management, like I’m not doing everything. Some days I do more, some days I do a little bit less, but I’m doing most stuff like it’s not, it’s, we’re almost there. I’m excited.”

The Huskies now turn their attention to South Florida, whom they’ll face on Sunday at 4:30 p.m. ET.
