BF Collin Murray-Boyles reacts to South Carolina star Chloe Kitts’ on-court snaps
South Carolina's Chloe Kitts is rising up the ranks on the Gamecocks roster as she tries to expand her role and fill in some important spots for the team. The junior forward has been on a roll in the last few games, and she celebrated by sharing her on-court photos.
"Sum to prove🗣️," she wrote in the caption.
Chloe Kitts' boyfriend, Collin Murray-Boyles, reacted to the photo dump in the comments:
"My ❤️."
Kamilla Cardoso's presence on the Gamecocks' roster meant that Chloe Kitts saw restricted minutes in the last two seasons. She played an average of 18.6 minutes as a sophomore. With Cardoso's departure to the WNBA, Kitts is seeing more time on the court and is averaging 11.2 points and 8.8 rebounds.
Dawn Staley heaps praise on Chloe Kitts
Before the season began, South Carolina coach Dawn Staley named Chloe Kitts as one of the replacements for the vacant role of a big in the team.
"Chloe has gotten better," Staley said. "Like, Chloe can go get you a bucket in any type of way … midrange, then you put her on the block, and she’s pretty savvy with her footwork. Chloe has been outstanding.”
Kitts performed incredibly in the first three games but showed signs of struggle in late November. Missing a game due to "an academic policy issue" did not help her case either. However, despite it all, the junior bounced back and recorded her highest-scoring game this season against then-No. 8 Duke on Thursday. She finished with 21 points and 11 rebounds.
Dawn Staley praised Chloe Kitts for her hard work:
"I'm happy because Chloe pours into herself. She does all the right things in regards to prepping herself ... making lifestyle changes, in order for her to play this way. She wants to be a pro, so she's active in doing things and creating habits that will help her.
"So, I want basketball to repay her for that every time she steps on the floor, because there's so many (players) that just come to practice, and that's it. She does all the extra, so I want basketball to repay her in this way a lot more times than it has."
No. 3 South Carolina (9-1) will next play against South Florida on Sunday.
