Cooper Flagg is one of the most anticipated rookie debuts from the 2024 class. With consistent performances in high school followed by his show-out at the scrimmage against the Olympics-bound Team USA in July, have upped fans' expectations.

Despite all the attention around him, Flagg remains grounded. Duke coach Jon Scheyer praised the 17-year-old for his composure amid the mounting pressure.

"I've seen a lot of different seasons, different hype, different expectations," Scheyer said (via ESPN). "And with Cooper, I don't know if we've ever had a 17-year-old with this much hype and attention. We talk about all the things we can control, and that's what we focus on.
"Cooper, I don't think he likes all the attention, to be honest. He's all about just wanting to be like the other guys -- wanting to win, wanting to compete. And he's done a great job of setting the tone for all of that."

Cooper Flagg is all ready for his big debut with the Duke Blue Devils

After five months of practice with the rest of the Blue Devils roster, Cooper Flagg is set to play his first game in the Duke blue and white on Nov. 4 against his home state school, Maine. During an interview with the media, the forward shared his preparations and goals for his rookie season.

"I think as far as hype and all that goes, that’s something that you learn to deal with," Flagg said. "And for me, it’s just about playing basketball, so I’m excited to get going with our team."
"We have an incredible group of guys. I’ve gotten to know everybody on the team really well. So I’m just really excited to get going. As far as the hype for me, I just focus on playing basketball and trying to win every day."

He will be playing with a roster that was rebuilt during the offseason after the transfer portal exodus. This has caused many to pay close attention to the synergy of the new team on the court.
