Bryce James, Larsa Pippen join fans in hyping Scottie Pippen’s son as 19YO Justin shares first look in his Michigan jersey

In a surprising move this summer, Michigan added Chicago Bulls legend Scottie Pippen’s son Justin Pippen to the program. The 19-year-old chose the Wolverines over his other finalist schools Stanford, Florida, Texas A&M, and California.

While college hoops fans were thrilled to celebrate Pippen's recruitment, his mother Larsa Pippen, and LeBron James' son, Bryce James, also chipped in with their wishes. As the four-star, 6-foot-3 freshman posted photos in a Michigan jersey on his Instagram, James reposted it to show his support.

Justin Pippen committed to Michigan for his NBA dream

Michigan was a late addition to Pippen’s list of potential homes. At first, the youngster was focusing on choosing different programs. However, a Zoom call with coach Dusty May changed it all. Soon, Pippen was visiting the Wolverines’ coaching staff.

Dusty May envisioned Pippen as an on-ball and off-ball player, who could operate alongside several other talented players in the nation. With that, Pippen believes that his aim to play in the NBA is achievable while playing for Michigan.

Pippen saw a major increase in his stock during his senior high school year. Playing for Sierra Canyon, he averaged 16.5 points, 4.9 assists, and 4.5 rebounds. He showcased a smooth shooting touch, tighter ballhandling, and increased ability to adapt to ball screens, making him an ideal guard prospect.

Justin Pippen’s brother, Scotty Pippen Jr. was also an underrecruited guard. He sided with Vanderbilt in 2020, earning SEC All-Freshman Team honors and multiple first-team All-SEC selections. He is currently under a two-way contract with the Memphis Grizzlies.
