“Cal has lost his mind and Arkansas blows”: Kentucky fans celebrate as 5-star recruit reportedly cancels trip to John Calipari’s Razorbacks

Five-star forward Caleb Wilson has canceled his visit to John Calipari’s Arkansas Razorbacks scheduled for Nov. 16, as per Rivals reporter Jackson Collier. The Holy Innocents Episcopal School player reportedly does not plan to reschedule with the program.

The high school senior is ranked 8th by 247 Sports and 6th by On3 in the class of 2025. So far, he has visited Auburn, Tar Heels, Tennessee, Kentucky, UCF, Stanford and Ohio State.

The 6-foot-9 forward garnered more than 25 offers from Division I programs and narrowed it to 12 schools in July. He reportedly plans to reveal his commitment sometime in December or January.

Kentucky Wildcats fans flooded the comment section as Wilson's decision to move on from John Calipari's program strengthens UK's chance of landing him:

"Who could blame him? Cal has lost his mind and Arkansas blows.," a fan wrote.
"What was that saying? It was always Cal and not UK?" another fan commented.
"But I was told UK wouldn’t get top talent after Cal left…," another fan wrote.

More Kentucky fans reacted to the update:

"Looking at how Kentucky plays basketball this year how can they not be a top choice for any recruit," a fan commented.
"Everyone knows he a Kentucky 🔐 Don’t see why he’s waiting til Dec/Jan to make a decision unless he wants to announce it on a special day. Either way I can’t wait to see him put that blue hat on," another fan wrote.
"He must have watched the Troy game last night 😂," another fan commented.

It is the second time Caleb Wilson has canceled a trip to Arkansas. The first instance came last month, which the youngster canceled by reportedly citing that the dates overlapped with the Razorbacks’ exhibition in Fort Worth.

John Calipari will visit the Kentucky Wildcats in February

Former coach John Calipari will be in the Rupp Arena on Feb. 1 when his Razorbacks face Mark Pope’s Wildcats. It is one of the most anticipated contests of the 2024-25 college basketball season as Calipari surprisingly resigned from his coaching role in Lexington this summer. He joined Arkansas the next day.

As Calipari left, the majority of the roster entered the transfer portal and four returning UK players followed him to Fayetteville.
