The 6-foot-5 teenager is not just the top dog in New York but also the No. 9 shooting guard in the class of 2025, according to 247Sports. He is a four-star prospect ranked 57th in his class.

Kiyan, who plays high school basketball for the Long Island Lutheran, has already caught the eyes of top programs like Illinois, Indiana, Maryland, Michigan, and Tennessee.

As he gears up for the NBPA Top 100 camp, his recruiting stock could skyrocket. He’s one of 36 athletes invited to the 2024 USA Basketball Men's U17 National Team training camp in Colorado Springs.

Carmelo Anthony mentors son Kiyan Anthony

Carmelo Anthony is now channeling his experience into mentoring his son, Kiyan. On his "7 PM in Brooklyn" podcast episode with Sixers star Paul George, Carmelo used George's Olympic exclusion as a teachable moment for Kiyan.

"I asked that question because he was in a similar situation with USA Basketball," Carmelo shared. "Went there, thought he had a shot, didn't make the team for whatever reason. I'm trying to get him to understand the mindset of that, like you can't live off of that. You got to keep going."

Kiyan, who is ranked No. 40 in ESPN's top 100 for the class of 2025, noted the difference between high school and AAU basketball.

"In AAU every team you play there's gonna be at least one top-ranked player. If you're able to guard that person and he's guarding you and if you're able to compete with them and if you're able to get the win." [29:10]

With his father's guidance and inspiration from players like Paul George, Kiyan Anthony is well on his way to making a name in the basketball world.
