Carmelo Anthony’s son Kiyan, a 2025 four-star talent, shortlists top 6 schools in major recruitment move

Kiyan Anthony is one of the country's biggest high school basketball prospects and is still a college basketball free agent, as he hasn't declared to a program. However, we seemingly are getting closer to the announcement as Anthony, the son of multiple-time NBA All-Star Carmelo Anthony, announced his top six schools on Thursday.

Kiyan posted on his social media accounts that he is down to the Auburn Tigers, Syracuse Orange, Florida State Seminoles, Ohio State Buckeyes, USC Trojans and Rutgers Scarlet Knights.

Will Kiyan Anthony follow his father's footsteps with his college basketball decision?

One of Kiyan Anthony's final six schools just so happens to be the school where his father, Carmelo Anthony, played his singular year of college basketball and won the national championship in the Syracuse Orange.

Granted, there are a lot of differences between when Carmelo Anthony played and Kiyan Anthony was not even born yet, but there is definitely a possibility that he dons the Syracuse Orange jersey as a second-generation college basketball star.

However, there would also be a lot of expectations if Kiyan Anthony were to go where his father's jersey is retired and hanging in the rafters.

What type of player is Kiyan Anthony?

According to 247's National Basketball Director Eric Bossi, Anthony is going to be a serious scoring threat.

Anthony is going to be the clear alpha offensively. He showed so in the NBA Top 100 camp as well as throughout the summer with his highlights and ability to find the bottom of the basket consistently.
