Carmelo Anthony's son, Kiyan Anthony, pulls off ankle-breaker while showing off insane footwork before Syracuse debut
NBA legend Carmelo Anthony's son, Kiyan Anthony, graduated from Long Island Lutheran last Friday. Kiyan will play his college basketball for his father's alma mater, the Syracuse Orange, whom he committed to in November.
Ahead of his move to Syracuse in the Fall, Kiyan, who's ranked as the No. 1 prospect in New York by ESPN, has been working out in the gym. On Monday, a clip of Kiyan tying other players in knots with his dazzling skills during a workout was posted on the Dashletics Instagram page.
In the first part of the clip, Kiyan Anthony dribbled impressively, showing off his footwork, drove into the paint while holding off his defender before burying a floater and celebrating passionately. In the second part, he buried a 3-pointer, while in the last part of the clip, Kiyan received a dime and dunked thunderously on his defender.
The clip posted on the Dashletics Instagram page was captioned:

Kiyan Anthony aims to step out of father's shadow
Kiyan Anthony has been unlike most prospects due to his connection to NBA legend Carmelo Anthony, which has made him one of the most scrutinized talents in the past few years.
During an interview with The Interview Magazine, Kiyan revealed that he didn't choose to join the Syracuse Orange, his father's alma mater solely because of Carmelo's legacy at the program, outlining his aim to step out of his father's shadow.
"I feel like a part of it was obviously the connection that my dad went there, but mostly just how they could see me fitting in there and recruiting me for myself and not just who he was," Kiyan Anthony said. "He did big things there, but I’m my own player, and I’m trying to do bigger things when it comes to basketball.
"So I feel like I made a good choice, and I’m happy that the coaching staff has accepted me, and the campus as a whole has accepted me. They’re ready for me to come in there and play. My dad helped me just come to this decision and be where I’m at today. If it wasn’t for him, I don’t know where I would be, to be honest."
Kiyan Anthony will have huge shoes to fill under coach Adrian Autry in Syracuse, where his father, Carmelo Anthony is a legend after leading the Orange to the 2003 national championship.
