Carmelo Anthony’s son Kiyan picks his top 5 father-son duos ft. LeBron James and Bronny
Carmelo Anthony and his son Kiyan have been the focus of many discussions due to the young Kiyan's potential. Besides, LeBron and Bronny James are not the only father-son duo in basketball that is gaining attention lately.
The list of second-generation players is extensive and there are numerous examples of successful father-son tandems.
LeBron and Bronny made NBA history by being the first father-son duo to team up in a game together for the Lakers in the season opener against Minnesota when Bronny entered the game as a substitute in the second quarter.
During his appearance on the "Unapologetically Angel" podcast released on Thursday, Angel Reese asked Kiyan who his top five NBA sons were.
Although Anthony will not be able to play with his dad Carmelo in the NBA, he put them No.1 on his list of top five father-son duos.
"Me and my pops, number one, he said during an appearance on the 'Unapologetically Angel' podcast. "Bronny and his pops. The Boozers, Boozers is nice. Alijah Arenas and Gilbert Arenas, that's four. Tajh Ariza and Trevor Ariza." [Time Stamp - 35:15]
Two-time NBA All-Star Carlos Boozer's son Cameron Boozer is one of the top prospects in the class of 2025. He and his twin brother Cayden have both committed to the Duke Blue Devils.
Alijah Arenas, the son of former Wizards' guard Gilbert Arenas, plays high school basketball at Chatsworth High in LA. Meanwhile, Trevor Ariza, an NBA champion with the Lakers, has a son named Tajh Ariza, who is a five-star forward currently playing for Westchester Senior in Los Angeles.
Kiyan Anthony once said LeBron and Bronny would win 2-on-2 game against him and his dad
Carmelo Anthony was surprised when his son Kiyan said in an interview with Overtime this summer that Bronny and LeBron would defeat him and Melo in a 2v2 matchup. Junior Anthony stayed humble and said his team would end up losing the game.
"I think Bron and Bronny would win, to be honest," Kiyan said. "Just because Bron is still in the league, he’s still doing what he’s doing. I dunno, it’ll be a close game. I feel like it’d be, like, 11-8, 11-7."
Although he made a valid point that Carmelo is no longer playing, when Melo heard about it, he was as surprised as most people.
"I’m going to remember this 😂😂," Carmelo tweeted and tagged his son.
Anthony is getting ready for his last high school basketball season while he decides on a college. He plans to make his choice before college basketball starts. Three schools -- Syracuse, USC and Auburn -- are the last ones standing in the race to land the 6-foot-5 guard.
