Carmelo Anthony’s son Kiyan sets ambition of playing with his own kid just like LeBron James and Bronny
LeBron James realized his NBA dream of sharing the court with Bronny James and Kiyan Anthony wants to follow suit. In an episode of "Unapologetically Angel" released on Nov. 1, Angel Reese and Anthony discussed star kids playing in the league or en route to the big stage.
With that, Reese asked Anthony whether he wanted to someday play with his own son in the NBA, just like LeBron James. The 17-year-old immediately agreed, albeit while realizing the challenges behind mimicking the tenure of James' NBA journey.
"Would you want to have a son and play with your son?," Reese asked.
"Yeah. I mean, I don't know if I could on something LeBron type like, 20-something years," Anthony responded. (35:44)
While LeBron James is on the path to having the longest NBA career, he has already had the most impactful two decades in the NBA. The four-time NBA champion has never averaged fewer than 25.0 points per game, except in his rookie year in the league.
In case Kiyan Anthony wants to form a LeBron James and Bronny James-like duo of his own, the 17-year-old will have to take serious measures around his health, diet, recovery and discipline right away. Luckily, due to Carmelo Anthony's close-knit bond with James, Kiyan can get all the help he wants as well.
Kiyan Anthony will yield his college decision in mid-November
In the same episode with Angel Reese, Kiyan Anthony also revealed his plans to declare his college commitment. The youngster revealed that he has narrowed done his list six schools list to just Auburn Tigers, Syracuse Orange and USC Trojans.
With that, Anthony claims that he will reveal his final decision before Nov. 15.
"I'm ready to make my decision. Two weeks," Anthony said. (29:46)
Kiyan Anthony received more than 20 college offers over the recent years, making him one of the most sought-after high school basketball names. He is also regarded as the best player in New York.
Anthony can form a potential star duo in Auburn, as the program is a favorite to land AJ Dybantsa, the best prospect in the nation. USC, which is a staple name amongst celebrity kids, will allow Anthony to tone down outside distractions and focus on his game.
Syracuse offers Anthony a chance to step into his father’s legacy. Carmelo Anthony led the program to its only NCAA title in 2003 and was a one-and-done player for the Orangemen.
