Cooper Flagg stats tonight - How did Duke star fare vs Auburn? (Dec 4)
Cooper Flagg and the No. 9 Duke Blue Devils scored a major upset on Wednesday night, beating the No. 2 Auburn Tigers 84-78 in the SEC/ACC Challenge at Cameron Indoor Stadium.
Flagg led Duke in scoring with 22 points. He also grabbed 11 rebounds to post his third double-double of the season. He shot 7-for-18 from the field and knocked down eight of his 12 free throw attempts.
Flagg also showed his defensive prowess, recording three steals and two blocks. He was a workhorse for Duke, playing a game-high 38 minutes. The Blue Devils improved to 5-0 at home with the win over the Tigers.

Flagg did most of the damage against Auburn after halftime, scoring 16 of his 22 points during that period. The Blue Devils needed every bit of Flagg's offense, with Auburn making a late rally. The Tigers sliced the deficit to two points with 5:06 remaining after trailing 54-42 early in the second half.
Duke's defense stood tall, however, in the closing stages. Jon Scheyer's men forced Auburn to miss seven consecutive shots. That spelled the difference for the Blue Devils as they handed the Tigers their first loss of the season.
It wasn't just Flagg who delivered for Duke in the showdown against Auburn. Isaiah Evans and Caleb Foster provided the firepower off the bench, scoring 18 and 11 points, respectively.
Evans was lights out from the 3-point area, knocking down six of his eight attempts from beyond the arc. He scored all of his points in the first half, helping the Blue Devils build a 43-36 advantage at the break.
Tyrese Porter was the other Duke starter to score in double figures, recording 12 points on 4-of-10 shooting.
Johni Broome dazzled for Auburn in a losing effort, leading the team in scoring and rebounding with 20 points and 12 boards. He wasn't afforded much rest like Flagg, playing 37 minutes for the Tigers. Broome fouled out with 15 seconds remaining in the contest.
