“Crop me in next time gang”: Caitlin Clark, Kate Martin and more react to Gabbie Marshall’s special Jada Gyamfi T-shirt
Gabbie Marshall made a heartwarming gesture for her good friend, Jada Gyamfi. The duo, who forged a special bond as teammates at the Iowa Hawkeyes during their college basketball careers, shared a touching moment following the Hawkeyes' game against the Virginia Tech Hokies at Charlotte, North Carolina yesterday.
Marshall, who retired from college basketball to pursue her master's in occupational therapy from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill this year, made the trip to the Ally Center to watch Gyamfi and the Hawkeyes in action alongside her boyfriend Spencer Touro and her former teammate, Kate Martin.
To cheer her friend on, Marshall sported a T-shirt with the words, 'Jada's Hype Girl' emblazoned on it. Marshall and Gyamfi took a few photos together, with the former sharing some of their favorite moments from their reunion on Instagram with a post.
Marshall's post left other Hawkeyes stars, both past and present, touched with her gesture. Martin and Caitlin Clark were among former players who shared kind comments on her Instagram post, with Gyamfi also returning the love Marshall gave her in Charlotte.
"Crop me in next time gang," wrote Clark.
Martin exclaimed, "I love you!"
Gyamfi wrote, "I love you so much."
Gyamfi's current teammates, Kylie Feuerbach and Sydney Affolter and Hawkeyes assistant coach Raina Harmon also appreciated Gabbie Marshall for her kind gesture towards Gyamfi.
"It’s always a great day when I get to see you cutie pumpkin," wrote Feuerbach.
"I JUST LOVE YOU SO MUCH. So happy to see ur cute face," wrote Affolter.
Harmon wrote, "To Gabbie: Love you daughter. To Jada: Love you Mini."
