“Cuteness”: Kate Martin reacts to Gabbie Marshall showing support for Iowa’s Jada Gyamfi and the squad

Gabbie Marshall reunited with Jada Gyamfi and Kate Martin in North Carolina on Sunday. The Iowa Hawkeyes were set to play the Virginia Tech Hokies at the Spectrum Center for the Ally Tipoff, their first major test of the season. Marshall not only met with her former teammates but also cheered for the Hawkeyes from the bench with Martin.

The former Iowa sniper posted a photo montage of her outing on TikTok, highlighting key moments from the reunion. The series of photos showcases Marshall's unique T-shirt to hype Gyamfi, meeting Sydney Affolter, Jan Jensen and other members of the coaching staff.

"Heart is full🥹💛 #iowawbb #family," Gabbie Marshall captioned the video.

The Hawkeyes put on a show for their returning stars. Even though they defeated Virginia Tech 71-52 to go 2-0, they had fans on the edge of their seats near halftime. Iowa opened the game with a 26-16 lead after the first quarter. However, the roster only scored eight points in the next stretch, allowing the Hokies to mount a 14-8 and erase Iowa's lead to four points.

Nevertheless, Addison O'Grady stepped up, easing Lucy Olsen and Hanna Stuelke’s roles as Hawkeyes entered the fourth quarter with a 16-point advantage.

Gabbie Marshall and Kate Martin have remained in touch with Iowa

Marshall and Martin played their last game for the Gawkeyes on April 7. Since then, Martin has transitioned to the WNBA, where she also experienced her first conference finals. Marshall has moved on from professional basketball and is pursuing a Master's from the University of North Carolina.

Nevertheless, over the last months, Gabbie Marshall and Kate Martin have ensured to visit Iowa whenever they can. At the beginning of October, Marshall took connecting flights as the two decided to surprise Jada Gyamfi by showing up unannounced outside her room.

Later in October, the extended cast of the 2023-24 roster reunited at the Carver-Hawkeye Arena and also attended a football game at the Kinnick Stadium.
