"Dancer Lucy"; "Ate like always": College hoops fans react to Iowa star Lucy Olsen's latest TikTok dance in fuzzy pink overalls
Lucy Olsen has quickly become a fan-favorite at Iowa this season. Brought in as a replacement for Caitlin Clark, the Villanova transfer has lived up to the billing with some spectacular performances, leading the new Jan Jensen era as the Iowa Hawkeyes' starting point guard.
Besides excelling on the court, Olsen is also winning fans off of it with her activity on social media. Earlier today, the senior guard showcased that by entertaining over 32,000 of her followers on TikTok with a video on the social media platform.
In the 13-second clip, Olsen sported fuzzy pink overalls and danced to the tune of "Shake Sum" by Verified Youngin. Over the last 24 hours, the video has garnered over 3,000 likes, with fans flocking to the comments section to show some love for the talented guard.
Olsen's new teammate at Iowa, Kylie Feuerbach, joined fans in appreciating her energy, commenting on her latest post:
"I wish your duets were on cause I’d make one to this video in my new set too," wrote Feuerbach.
"Ate like always," said one fan.
"DANCER LUCYYYYY," wrote another.
Others took to appreciating Olsen's performances at Iowa, showing their intent to see more of her on the court:
"Favvv playerrr," said one fan.
"No one has a better smile or disposition, and you show both often! Great addition to Iowa," wrote another.
"Love your game!!" one fan added.
Lucy Olsen enjoys strong start to life at Iowa
Lucy Olsen enjoyed a stellar junior season at Villanova, which was arguably her best with the Wildcats. She ranked third in the nation in scoring, averaging 23.3 points. She also averaged 4.8 rebounds and 3.8 assists in 36.2 minutes, starting all 35 games she appeared in.
Filling Caitlin Clark's shoes was always going to be a challenge given the impact she made at Iowa. However, Olsen has made a strong start with the Hawkeyes.
She has played all but two games this season and started all of them. Across nine games, she has averaged 18.3 ppg, 3.8 rpg and 4.9 apg, emerging as an influential player in Jensen's setup at Iowa.
The Hawkeyes, currently 9-2, broke into the AP Top 25 for the first time this season in Week 4 and currently rank No. 22 in the latest update of the weekly poll.
Olsen and Co. are in action once again when they host the Purdue Boilermakers at Carver-Hawkeye Center on Sunday.
