LSU star Flau’jae Johnson delivered an outstanding performance Monday night, leading the Tigers to a 19-0 record with a victory against Vanderbilt.
Johnson stuffed the stat sheet with 25 points, five rebounds, four assists, one steal and one block over 38 minutes. She shot 10-of-21 from the field and made all four of her free-throw attempts.
In a dominant fourth-quarter display, Johnson took control, scoring 11 points on 5-of-7 shooting to create a comfortable lead for LSU. Her timely baskets proved decisive in fending off the Commodores.
“We should have started better today, for sure,” Johnson admitted postgame.
“But this is the SEC. Every game is gonna be a grind, but we made the game harder than it had to be.”
Johnson’s performance earned her widespread praise on social media.

Next, LSU will travel to Gainesville to face the Florida Gators at the Stephen C. O’Connell Center on Jan. 19. The game will tip off at 12 p.m. CT and will be nationally broadcast on SEC Network.
LSU Edges Vanderbilt in a Tight Contest
LSU and Vanderbilt battled in a closely contested game at the Pete Maravich Assembly Center, with both teams trading blows in front of the 10,201 crowd in Baton Rouge.
Vanderbilt entered as underdogs and executed their gameplan effectively, keeping the game messy and the score close. The teams were tied at the end of both the first and second quarters, with LSU clinging to a one-point lead after the third. However, the Tigers managed to pull away slightly in the final minutes.
Five players scored over 20 points in the game. Vanderbilt’s Khamil Pierre led all scorers with 28, followed by Iyana Moore’s 23. LSU’s Flau’jae Johnson scored 25, Aneesah Morrow added 23 with 15 rebounds for a double-double and Mikaylah Williams contributed 20 points.
LSU dominated the boards, out-rebounding Vanderbilt 45-25, including 21 offensive rebounds. The Tigers also held a 44-32 edge in points in the paint. Vanderbilt had the upper hand in steals (9-8) and scored 17 fast-break points.
The loss extended Vanderbilt’s losing streak to three games, dropping them to 14-4 overall and 1-3 in SEC play. LSU, meanwhile, pushed its winning streak to 19 games, improving to 19-0 overall and 4-0 in the SEC.
