Did Kyle Filipowski's parents attend 2024 NBA Draft? Taking a look at Duke star's family relationship
Kyle Filipowski was on hand at the 2024 NBA draft as he was one of 24 prospects invited to attend the greenroom during the first round on Wednesday. He was one of just two of those players, along with Kansas Jayhawks guard Johnny Furphy, who were not selected.
After waiting an extra day – this year's draft was the first to be split into two days – the former Duke Blue Devils center was selected 32nd by the Utah Jazz. His parents and family were not on hand as he waited to hear his name called.
Filipowski is reportedly estranged from his family, which his brother and mother aired out during the draft. According to Daniel and Becky Filipowski, the issues stem from his fiancée, Caitlin Hutchison, attempting to brainwash the incoming rookie.
Hutchison appeared to be the only person on hand with Filipowski as a video emerged of her consoling him after he was not selected in the first round.
The newest member of the Jazz has not responded to his family's claims.

What did Kyle Filipowski's family say about his fiancée?
Daniel Filipowski was the first member of Kyle Filipowski's family to air out their issues with Caitlin Hutchison, tweeting:
"I’m Kyle’s oldest brother..you all don’t have a clue of the extent of the story that has to do with his girlfriend. There’s a story that has been pushed under the table for nearly two years now."
The elder Filipowski brother continued:
"If (ESPN draft expert Jonathan) Givony responds to my DMs, he would be able to get the full story that no one knows about outside of who’s involved, Duke coaching staff and his agent"
He later added:
"Other than messaging him on his IG account, don’t know how to get in touch with him. But look up and read on Mormon grooming and brainwashing and you’ll find some introductory details in there to connect some dots into the story that is going on here."
Becky Filipowski added:
"you are opening a two year issue...and she is 28 with an endgame 3 years ago to have a diamond ring on her hand when Kyle left Duke. HE WAS STILL IN HS"

Filipowski's elder brother responded to the post, claiming that Hutchison forced him to cut off his family two years ago. He claimed the Utah Jazz draftee sent the family an email as an official goodbye letter.
