Duke freshman Toby Fournier had a game on Sunday, December 8. The first-year forward, playing in her ACC debut, powered the Blue Devils to a massive 81-59 win over Virginia Tech, scoring 27 points in just 24 minutes off the bench.
Not unexpectedly, fans were quick to jump online after the game and give Fournier her flowers on the Duke Women's Basketball Instagram page.
"TOBY π TOBY π TOBY π," one fan commented.
"Did she punch it like Watkins?" another wrote, referencing Ashlyn Watkins' outrageous dunk for the South Carolina Gamecocks.
"She's a hooper π₯," another fan commented.
Fans were also quick to point out that Fournier can indeed dunk and that when she eventually does in a game, it's going to be incredible.
"Waiting for that first dunk now. π―π―π―π," one fan wrote.
"When that girl dunks, it's going to break records π₯," another commented.

Duke freshman Toby Fournier leads the charge against Virginia Tech
Toby Fournier dropped a season-high 27 points and grabbed nine rebounds while shooting an incredible 70.6% from the floor. She continues to build on her hot start to the season. Through her first six games with the Blue Devils, Fournier scored at least ten points five different times, including a 25-point performance against Belmont on November 22.
Her strong start to her college career saw her claim ACC Rookie of the Week honors, becoming the first Duke womenβs basketball player to win one of the conferenceβs weekly awards.
Sheβs currently averaging 12.4 PPG in 16.8 minutes, as well as 4.6 RPG and 1.1 BPG, all while shooting an efficient 56.3% from the field.
Her performance against Virginia Tech marks a strong recovery for the Canadian after a challenging outing against then-No. 3 South Carolina last Thursday, December 5. In Duke's 11-point loss to the Gamecocks, Fournier managed just two points in 13 minutes.
Toby Fournier and the Blue Devils will get a break following the win before they take on Wofford on December 18.
