"Done with this c*ap": Green Bay coach Doug Gottlieb clears the air after "Nobody U" controversy, defends team's schedule

FOX Sports radio host and Green Bay Phoenix coach Doug Gottlieb has responded after a video of him calling Michigan Tech "Nobody U" went viral. Gottlieb's team proceeded to lose to Michigan Tech, a Division II team, 72-70 on Wednesday, and fans went in on the Green Bay coach.

Now, Gottlieb has responded, defending himself and his team against the barbs and clowning that have come their way because of his comments.

"Done with this crap," Gottlieb wrote on X (formerly Twitter) on Wednesday. "We scheduled up. Including Michigan Tech. No where ever, have I been critical of anyone on our schedule. Now, back to work."

Doug Gottlieb and the Green Bay Phoenix have lost eight games in a row

Doug Gottlieb and the Green Bay Phoenix entered their game against Michigan Tech ranked 326th out of 364 teams in KenPom. With its 72-70 loss to the DII squad, UWGB (2-11) has dropped eight straight games, with its only wins coming against Western Illinois and Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville — neither of which are powerhouse programs.

Gottlieb has stirred up trouble twice recently with his comments. First, he clashed with NFL insider Adam Schefter on social media and got criticized for his team's poor performance this season. Now, his team has lost to a Division II opponent.

Last week, when asked about playing against Michigan Tech, Gottlieb called the Huskies "Nobody U" and claimed his team would beat them by 20 points. But on Wednesday, Green Bay lost 70-72 to Michigan Tech.

During their social media spat, Schefter advised Gottlieb to focus less on social media and more on improving his team. That suggestion has probably been magnified now after the embarrassing loss at the hands of Michigan Tech.

UWGB's next game sees it travel to face the undefeated Drake Bulldogs (10-0) on Saturday.
