"Duke should not lose a game [this] year": CBB fans get hyped as Cooper Flagg, Sion Williamson and more show their athletic abilities
Days after the Pro Devils Day, Cooper Flagg and the Duke Blue Devils' offseason practice resumed in full swing. The program posted a highlight on its Instagram handle, showcasing the athletic abilities of Flagg, Tyrese Proctor, Sion Williamson and Khaman Maluach.
The four players ran multiple drills in the video and finished off by showcasing their verticals, resulting in a casual Eastbay slam by Flagg to end the video:
"New guys are some ATHLETES," Duke captioned the post.
Thrilled by the sight, fans began sharing their expectations from the 2024-25 Blue Devils squad for the season:
"Duke should not lose a game ts [this] year," one fan wrote.
"I expect to be dancing to a chip this year," another fan said.
"We have two guys who played with NBA PLAYERS this summer yall are cooked," another fan commented.
Nevertheless, plenty of fans expressed their concerns about the squad as well:
"Kool but can they win consistently and mesh together and play together and win a national championship," a fan wrote.
"And this team will still lose to Grand Canyon in the Sweet 16. Have to have more than a 49 inch vert to when a championship," another fan commented.
"Don’t get too high, let’s work," one fan added.
Cooper Flagg is projected to dominate 2024-25 college circuit
CBS Sports’ Gary Parrish and Matt Norlander conducted research in August, anonymously questioning more than 100 D1 coaches about the best basketball player in the entire college circuit. Interestingly, 36% of the coaches voted for Cooper Flagg, making him the clear favorite to dominate the upcoming season. Mark Sears, Hunter Dickinson and RJ Davis took the remaining top-4 spots respectively.
Now, before Flagg steps in an official college basketball game, he has again been handed a top honor. The Montverde product was named the Newcomer of the Year last week by the Blue Ribbon College Basketball Yearbook.
Moreover, as he was selected into the second All-American team, he became the only freshman on the list. The remaining 19 players consisted of four juniors, eight seniors and seven graduates.
Moreover, even before he began lacing up for Duke's summer practice, Cooper Flagg was battling with NBA stars like Anthony Davis, Bam Adebayo, Jrue Holiday and others as part of the Team USA Select Team.
