Hanna and Haley Cavinder are back in Miami and played their first game after a year's break on Sunday. The Hurricanes took on the Palm Beach Atlantic and posted an 89-30 win.

The Georgia Bulldogs quarterback's mother has been vocal in her support for Hanna Cavinder as she plays her final college season at Coral Gables. On Sunday, Haley Cavinder finished with 13 points and 10 rebounds while Hanna scored 12 points.

The twins played a crucial role in Miami's run to the maiden Elite Eight appearance in 2023. With their return, similar results are expected for the Hurricanes under the new coach, Tricia Cullop. She praised the twins during the chat with the media, saying:

“They are two of the hardest workers that I have ever coached, and I’ll go even further and say even two of the hardest workers that I have played with, and that’s saying a lot because I played with some All-Americans."

She praised the Cavinder twins' hunger to still get better at their game, setting a high bar for excellence among their teammates.

"When your best players are your hardest workers, you have something special, and with them we have that," Cullop said. "They are very good communicators, they are very good leaders, and they are people that will run through a wall for you. I love coaching them."

Hanna Cavinder believes in the potential of the 2024-25 Miami roster

Hanna Cavinder was one of the key reserve players during her previous stint with the Miami Hurricanes. She averaged 3.8 points, 1.6 assists, and 1.3 rebounds per game. Although she decided to hang up her shoes after her senior year, her return to college was influenced by her twin, Haley.

“It honestly felt really refreshing right when I got back on campus,” Hanna Cavinder said. “Obviously, I love TheU, the community, and everything that I represent here. There’s no better feeling than being back on campus.”

Commenting on the potential of the 2024-25 roster, Cavinder said:

“Like Coach Cullop said, there’s so much versatility, so many people that can play different positions on the court, so I’m excited for that. We have a great balance on the inside, our post players are so good, so I think that’s going to open it up for the guards.”

The Miami Hurricanes will open their season against the Stetson Hatters on Nov. 4.
