Florida asst coach Rhyne Howard dons Nike’s Off White x Air Jordans for Jumpman Invitational
Atlanta Dream guard and Florida Gators assistant coach Rhyne Howard rocked a rare pair of Jordans in their 77-57 UNC loss on Wednesday. The 24-year-old sported a pair of the Off-White X Air Jordan 2 Low "Black and Varsity Royal", fitting for the Jumpan Invitational on Dec. 18.
Check down below for how Howard wore the sought-after pair during a game:
The pair, released back in Nov. 2021, sports a predominantly black upper with hints of blue on the laces, lining, heel and back tab and yellow on the midsole. Going for the aged aesthetic seen on its materials, the sneaker was released alongside a white and red colorway.
Since Florida is a Jordan Brand school, there may be more sneakers that Howard could receive. However, Howard and the Florida Gators were not able to hold off the UNC Tar Heels, losing to them by 20 points. They now fall to a 7-6 record on the 2024-2025 season and are in dangerous territory to nab a .500 standing.
Both Howard and Florida can have another go at it and avoid becoming a mid-tier team when they face the North Florida Ospreys on Saturday, Dec. 21, at the O'Connell Center in Gainesville, Florida.
What other limited edition sneakers has Rhyne Howard worn during a game?
Howard, who is in the off-season before entering her fourth year in the league, has previously worn standout sneakers both whenever she plays and whenever she coaches from the sidelines.
Joining the Florida Gators coaching staff after Atlanta were knocked out of the first round of the 2023 WNBA Playoffs, Howard was already a Jordan Brand athlete before her debut season as a professional basketball player.
Here she is wearing an exculsive player edition colorway of the Air Jordan Tatum 2:
The 6'2 guard also had a Air Jordan Tatum 1 PE, which the Boston Celtic forward wore himself during a game:
In last season's playoffs, Howard was also seen rotating her Tatum 2 PE with a limited edition colorway of the Air Jordan Luka 2.
We may see more of Howard showcasing her sneaker repertoire now on the Florida Gators sidelines and even in the WNBA next year.
