Former Kentucky star Will Levis names his all-time starting lineup for the Wildcats basketball team

Former Kentucky Wildcats football player Will Levis spent two years with the program, becoming only one of four players with over 5000 passing yards and six 3– passing-yard games. This allowed him the rare opportunity to learn more about the Wildcats program than several other players.

When he was asked about his all-time Kentucky Wildcats basketball starting five in an interview with CBS, the NFL player yielded a list plenty of hoops fans would agree with, well, mostly.

Will Levis’ all-time Kentucky basketball starting lineup:

  • John Wall (PG)
  • Devin Booker (SG)
  • Tayshaun Prince (SF)
  • Julius Randle (PF)
  • Anthony Davis (C)

Levis’ list revolves primarily around early 2010s stars, with Tayshaun Prince (1998-2002) being the only player from the previous decade.

The Wildcats have seen more than 50 students transition to the NBA since 2000, pitting certain names in Will Levis’ list for a notable fight for their position. Jamal Murray, De'Aaron Fox and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander round up for a battle for the point while Karl-Anthony Towns and Bam Adebayo's careers contend for other spots.

Nevertheless, fans would be pleased to learn that Levis, who repped the Wildcats from 2021–2022, favors and understands the impact of stars that came before him.

Will Levis’ Kentucky career and transition to the NFL

Levis began his collegiate career at Penn State from 2018–2020 and then transferred to the Wildcats. He lived up to his promise by establishing himself as a leader, finishing his eligibility with a second-best quarterback win (17-7) since 1993, including a Citrus Bowl win.

He also climbed the program leaderboard by mounting 43 career touchdown passes for the fifth all-time spot. Through that, he slowly increased his NFL prospects and entered the 2023 draft.

However, he failed to garner interest from any of the 32 teams in the first round, leading to a 33rd pick by the Tennessee Titans in the second round.

As he was handed a third-string responsibility as a quarterback for the Titans, Levis' first NFL start came in his third month, where he mounted four touchdowns behind 238 passing yards in a 28–23 win against the Atlanta Falcons.
