Hailey Van Lith gets ready for 3x3 showdown at Paris Olympics, shares glimpses of opening ceremony on Instagram
Hailey Van Lith is in France and shared the snippets of the opening ceremony of the 2024 Paris Olympics on Friday. Van Lith was named to the United States women's 3x3 basketball roster on June 5.
The TCU star posted video clips of enjoying her time with other athletes in her Instagram story. She also posted a picture of a basketball in an empty court with the words "Paris 2024" written on it.
Van Lith is the only college basketball player representing the USA in the Paris Olympics. She represented the USA 3x3 at the FIBA 2023 World Cup and won gold. Van Lith shared how special the Paris Olympics is for her:
“It’s the opportunity of a lifetime,” Van Lith said (via The Seattle Times). “You never know if this chance will come again, so I’m going to treat it like it’s the only one I’m going to get.”
Hailey Van Lith started her college basketball career with Louisville. Later, she transferred to LSU Tigers. This year, she entered the transfer portal and committed to Texas Christian University for the final year of her college eligibility.

Corey Van Lith, Hailey's father, talked about his daughter participating in the 2024 Paris Olympics.
“It’s just been a journey,” Corey Van Lith said (via The Seattle Times). “I think she’s had an incredible career, and her career’s not even close to being over. But this is definitely at the top, and no matter what she does, it will always be at the top.”
Van Lith has appeared in the NCAA Final Four contest and played three Elite Eights. She participated in the 3x3 Under 18 World Cup in Mongolia in 2019. Van Lith was part of Team USA's winning roster in the 2018 FIBA Under-17 World Cup in Belarus and the 2019 FIBA Under-19 World Cup in Thailand.
