Howard vs. Kansas: Box score, stats, game summary and more ft. Zeke Mayo
The Howard Bison traveled to Allen Fieldhouse on Monday night to open up the 2024-25 college basketball season and were decimated by the top-ranked Kansas Jayhawks 87-57. The Jayhawks have a goal of cutting down the nets this season and completely dominated to get that first victory on the board.
Graduate transfer Zeke Mayo was the star of the game as he recorded a game-high 19 points off the bench in his Jayhawks debut. This game was essentially used as a tune-up game for Kansas as it prepares for a matchup against the ninth-ranked North Carolina Tar Heels on Friday.
The Bison held a 4-3 lead but never had the advantage on the scoreboard again and were down 46-19 at halftime. The second half was closer, but Kansas never looked in any danger of letting its deficit drop.
