“Hurley is in shambles”: Hoops fans troll Dan Hurley’s UConn after 3-peat of defeats
Dan Hurley and the UConn Huskies dropped their third game in a row at the Maui Invitational, causing a flurry of reactions online. The Huskies went down to the Dayton Flyers 85-67, and fans are not letting Hurley or the team get away without adding their two cents to their misery.
Instagram was awash with comments on the game, as the Huskies, who are also eighth in the Big East, faced another loss:
"These boys went to Maui and got punched in the mouth," one fan commented.

Dan Hurley and the UConn Huskies go down to the Dayton Flyers
The Huskies were blown out by the unranked Dayton Flyers on Wednesday night, going down 85-67. After the game, Dan Hurley faced the media to address, in part, his team's struggles at this year's Maui Invitational.
"When we come to a tournament like this and it's three games in three days, and it starts to go bad, there's no way of fixing it because there's no time to," Hurley said after the game.
Hurley has been at the frontline of the issues they've been experiencing, with the champion coach losing his cool on multiple occasions throughout their games on the island.
In their opening game against Memphis, UConn rallied from a double-digit deficit in the final two and a half minutes to push the game into overtime, carrying all the momentum. However, when Liam McNeeley was called for an over-the-back foul, Hurley’s reaction derailed the team’s progress.
Instead of accepting the call in a tied game, Dan Hurley directed his frustration at the officials, crossing the line with remarks that didn’t require advanced lip-reading to interpret. This moment hurt the Huskies as they went down 99-97.
In their next game versus Colorado, Hurley again had to be restrained by his coaching staff.
"It was a humbling trip, obviously, for a program that's accomplished what we've accomplished," Hurley said.
The Huskies will return home for their next matchup as they prepare to face UMES on Saturday, Nov. 30.
