"I can't feel my tongue right now": Carmelo Anthony's ex-wife La La’s son Kiyan after eating hot chip for $500 challenge

The first episode of Overtime's "Evolution 2.0" features a homely challenge in Kiyan Anthony's home. His mother, La La Anthony, initiated the Hot Chip Challenge, putting $500 for grabs for the person who eats an entire chip without having water or milk for two minutes.

Anthony, along with two of his friends, took on the challenge, immediately regretting it moments later. The video showcases the three friends dealing with the heat in distinct ways.

"It gets worse bro, I swear to god, it gets worse," Anthony said after rinsing his mouth with water. "I can't feel my tongue right now. This needs to go away. I might take an Advil," he added.

Kiya Anthony, alongside one of his friends, eventually secured the cash reward set by La La Anthony.

The One Chip Challenge was popularised on social media where participants have to eat an extremely spicy and avoid eating or drinking anything. The challenge became popular in 2016, with several celebrities and social media personalities participating, including Shaquille O'Neal and Joel Embiid.

After the challenge ended in 2018, it repeated on social media every year from 2019 to 2022 before health concerns regarding the heat were raised.

Kiyan Anthony delays his official visit to the USC Trojans

USC is one of six programs in Kiyan Anthony’s college list, including Rutgers, Syracuse, Ohio State, Florida State and Auburn. The 17-year-old was expected to mount an official visit to the University of Southern California last weekend.

However, Anthony has rescheduled his trip to October 4-6. With that, the only schools Anthony hasn't visited yet remain Florida State and Carmelo Anthony’s alma mater Syracuse.

The combo guard is expected to visit the remaining schools in the coming month and reveal his commitment later this year.

Carmelo Anthony was a one-and-done with the Orangemen in the 2002-03 season, breaking several program records and leading them to their one and only NCAA title.

Melo's legacy, which is still up on display in the corridors and rafters of the school, has prompted his 17-year-old son to learn more about the program. With that, another meeting with the Syracuse staff will be one of the things Kiyan Anthony will tick off in the coming months.
