“I’ll scream and cry”: Iowa’s Jada Gyamfi predicts her reaction to Gabbie Marshall’s future engagement news while on podcast with Kate Martin
Even though Gabbie Marshall is no longer an Iowa Hawkeye, her bond with Jada Gyamfi stays strong. That was on display on Gyamfi's Fresh Tawk podcast when Kate Martin spoke off the cuff about owning a farm and envisioned it filled with nieces and nephews.
Gyamfi immediately chimed in by reflecting on her plans to have at least two kids. SGyamfi and Martin then speculated on Marshall's future and a curious question from Martin sparked a heartfelt reaction from Gyamfi.
"I wonder, oh never mind I don't even want to bring it up," Martin said. "I was gonna say I wonder when they're gonna get like engaged and married."
"I hope soon. I will scream and cry. I'll be a mess the day she calls me with that giant rock on her finger [imitates crying]," Gyamfi responded while citing her close bond with Gabbie Marshall and her boyfriend, Spencer Touro.

Gabbie Marshall and Spencer Touro began dating in the summer of her senior year at Iowa. Touro is a former Hawkeye with a degree in sports and diversion. Currently, he is a sophomore baseball trainer at Benton People Group Secondary School and a personal trainer at West Branch, Iowa.
Gabbie Marshall, unlike Kate Martin, left basketball to pursue a master's degree in occupational therapy from North Carolina after earning her bachelor’s in health and human psychology at Iowa.
Gyamfi is expected to return to the Hawkeyes for her two remaining years.
Jada Gyamfi, Kate Martin and Gabbie Marshall were supposed to vacation together this summer
After the Iowa Hawkeyes lost to the South Carolina Gamecocks in the final of the NCAA tournament, Gyamfi, Martin and Marshall planned a summer vacation.
They wanted to book a cabin and enjoy nature with strict rules around social media use on the weekends.
"Remember when you, me and Gabbie were gonna go on a trip and it never happened because life happened so fast," Martin said on the Fresh Tawk podcast. "It's crazy because we were planning that trip like we were gonna have like two while months together. I didn't think I was going to be in the WNBA so it's so funny that we had all these life plans."
Despite not being invited to draft night, Martin was picked 18th by the Las Vegas Aces, altering the trio's plans.
