The 17-year-old, who was not allowed to get inked until 2023, got La La's portrait tattooed on his left forearm.
Anthony's decision came after his mother's consistent dedication and support for his ventures. Not only does La La Anthony root for Kiyan from the sidelines but shows him the ropes to several off-court ventures as well. So, when the tattoo was completed after nearly six hours, his mother could not help but gush on his gift.
"I think it's crazy that he got my face tattooed on him," La La said on Overtime's Evolution 2.0. "I'm blown away, I'm touched, I'm honored. He wrote me the nicest note and I'm very kinda emotional about it," she added. (6:23)
Kiyan Anthony went a step ahead with his new ink, engraining a note for La La and her sacrifices for him.
"Dear Mom, you continuously put me before yourself. You are my why. I thank God for you every day," the note read.
The tattoo was done by Steve Wiebe, a globally renowned artist who is also popular in the NBA circuit. Wiebe has inked stars like Kevin Durant, Jayson Tataum, Damian Lillard, and Kyle Kuzma.
Kiyan Anthony is set to visit Rutgers and USC
Out of the 20+ offers Anthony garnered during his Long Island Lutheran stint, the combo guard narrowed down to just six programs right after his EYBL Peach Jam stint in July.
He named Rutgers, Syracuse, Ohio State, Auburn Tigers, USC Trojans, and Florida State as his potential landing spots.
With that, as Kiyan Anthony aims to finalize his commitment before his senior high school season begins, he has scheduled a visit to USC and Rutgers in the coming days. The teen will travel to California for an official meet with USC staff on September 26. The Trojans is the farthest program from his home in New York.
Moreover, he will visit Scarlet Knights on October 4. With that, the only remaining visits from his list will be Bruce Pearl's Auburn and Jake Diebler's Buckeyes.
