The guard was injured two games into last season and spoke about her journey to recovery with Hartford Courant.

“I feel like this has tested my patience in a different way,” Fudd said. “I feel really good and I feel like I could be, not playing 100%, but I could be doing more.
"But I’m taking my time and making sure that I’m perfecting the stuff that I am doing in the phase that I’m in before I progress to the next step, which I know it’s good for me. It’s very frustrating at times, but … it’s just reminding myself that I’ve been through this and I know it’s going to pay off.”

UConn coach Geno Auriemma gives timeline for Azzi Fudd's return

Azzi Fudd played just two games before being sidelined. She averaged 11.0 points, 2.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists. The year before that, during her sophomore season, she played just 15 games and averaged 15.1 ppg and 1.9 rpg.

While she has been predicted to return for the 2024-25 season, fans will have to wait longer before seeing her in action.

"Certainly she won't be ready the first week of November or the second week of November, maybe," UConn coach Geno Auriemma said. "I don't know. We'll know more once she starts getting out there. But I would say before we get into the biggest, most important parts of our schedule.
"I'm keeping my fingers crossed that she's going to be with us during that time. She looks great. She feels great. She's confident. It's just the world we live in today, there's more of, 'Let's be cautious.' We've been through that scenario."

The UConn Huskies are set to begin their 2024-25 season on Nov. 3 against Fort Hays State.
